Bowen Therapy is a kind of different body treatments initially founded by an Australian body worker named Mr Thomas Ambrose Bowen. The generic terminology called Bowen technique is the same thing as Bowen Therapy.
Bowen therapy is a multidimensional pain relief muscle healing therapy and has been in use for more than 50 years. The particular conditions in which this therapy is used include neurological, neuromuscular or any type of musculoskeletal pain. It can also cure any kind of pain inside a muscle caused by soft tissues. Another major use of this therapy is to cure Fascia problems. Fascia is the core of our body stimulation as it works like a hub and gives support to all body muscle , arteries and nerves and acts as base to all these, so it would not be wrong to say that Fascia is a kind of body originator and stimulator which basically controls the major nerve and muscle movement. Bowen therapy not only cure the malfunctions caused by tighten Fascia and tangled soft tissues but it also gives a relief to these muscle problems by a series of different but integrated and interrelated muscle treatments of soft tissues and Fascial release. In this process our body releases the natural receptors which lead the body to heal all the dysfunctions and balance the muscles tissues like before.
Bowen therapy or Bowen technique has cured thousands of people having chronic muscle pains and even cured those people who have tried and then lost every hope from every other medical or semi-medical treatment.
Major plus of this technique is that it is so soft and gentle that even an infant can be treated by this technique. There is no massage or chiropractic used in this therapy but just the sets gentle movements of hands and thumbs at the affected areas of muscle and tissues. But it is also a fact that this treatment is not an alternative of a medical treatment but due to its effectiveness in curing pains and even chronic pain and its success around the world more and more medical professionals now started to recommend this Bowen technique in some conditions.
The basic treatment is consisted on a series of body works. The patient lies on a treatment table when the treatment session starts and then the therapist starts to give simultaneous hand movements all over the body an specifically the painful area. The main focus of these movements is the body muscles and nerves and the core of the movement is to release the tension of the tissues within the affected area (s). This therapy not only treats the patients physical but also mental, chemical and emotional health and last as long as many days even after the completion of the treatment. This process particularly requires three sessions each in one week in usual conditions apart from exceptionalities. After the therapy the patients immediately feels a sense of deep relaxation and softness in the muscles.
